The Land of Eternal Spring

Guatemala offers great variety in nature and culture. Bordered by the black and white sand of the Pacific and Carribean coasts respectively, the interior of the country bursts with colours. Idyllic lakes, mountain ranges, majestic volcanoes, lush tropical rainforests, desert and jungle all form part of it. The climate of course varies with the landscape from the cooler highlands to hot jungle and beautiful sunny beaches.

Coffee, nuts and all sorts of fruits and vegetables grow throughout the country in addition to the vast corn and sugarcane fields. The culture is just as diverse with colonial cities, imposing ruins of the ancient Mayan empire and the colorful villages of the descendents of this great people, many of whom keep up their traditional customs and handicrafts. Besides Spanish you will also hear various Mayan languages.
